HAWAII COLLECTION

Hawaii has always been for me a destination that is synonymous to precious moments with family and friends, sunny weather, nature, happiness and laugher. Growing up in the east coast US and the rest of my family in Japan, Hawaii is also geographically the midpoint towards ‘home’. There is a sense of comfort even though you’re in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.  The idyllic island represents ideals. You can be from anywhere, but once on the island, we all belong. We all come from somewhere but we can all share a good moment together.  That is how I feel when I am in Hawaii and that is what I want to share through my Hawaii collection: happiness. 

Michino’s Hawaii collection is an explosion of color, it’s a celebration, it’s a moment of joy every time you carry the bag. From flower tones such as the Hibiscus Pink or the Lehua Red, the nature inspired colors such as Paradise Valley Green or the Hanauma Bag blue, the color Jeans Blue or the Mokihana Berry represent the lifestyle in Hawaii.   Each color represents a memory, a moment from a distant family reunion, a favorite photo from the past. They all bring a sense of happiness and that is what this collection is about.
