Each Michino bag is designed with care with the highest quality leather and made in the best ateliers and factories. We source leather from the highest quality tanneries in France and make the bags in Italy and France. The proximity from Paris to our tanneries and ateliers allows us to follow the quality of our productions. I am proud to work with each of our partners who I know from a long time.

DESIGN

French elegance and Japanese simplicity is the design philosophy at Michino. French Elegance is about timeless proportions and material excellence while Japanese Simplicity is about the minimalist approach and bringing functionality and versatility at the forefront of design decisions. Each design is the result of many cycles of trials and what you see here is a filtered edit of what is remaining after rounds of modifications to perfect the design.

Highest Quality Leather

Many leathers look alike, but at Michino, we are very specific about not only the type, but about which exact article from which particulier tannery. What I have chosen for Michino, they are the highest quality and the best articles from the most respected tanneries for that specific type of leather. Taurillon is the article Lagun from the Tannerie Remy Carriat. Textured calfskin is the article Rimbaud from the Tanneries Du Puy, the Smooth calfskin is the article Polo Hungary from the Tannery Roux and the grained goatskin is from the Tannerie Alran.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Great designs and high quality leather cannot become beautiful handbags without superior craftsanship. Sketches and materials are transformed to pieces of functional accessories by the savoir-faire and professional expertise of our small factories in France and Italy. It's the way how the leathers are cut, prepared, reinforced, sewn and assembled, how the patterns were made as well as how the metal pieces are fitted, from overall design to small details, everything is considered to the millimeter to make each bag.

ATTENTION TO DETAILS

Each metal piece is designed and developped for Michino. From palladium or Gold harware to details of stitching and how they were sewn, the smallest details are carefully considered. Sometimes, the attention to these details make all the difference.
